Grand Recognition of Achievement in Analysis and Leadership

Presentation of the award

The GRAAL award was created to recognize the achievement of business analysis work. We present this award annually to a team that has demonstrated leadership and application of the IIBA® business analysis practices. The IIBA® Ottawa Chapter is pleased to partner with the Quebec City and Montreal Chapters to invite you to submit your nomination for the GRAAL 2021 Award.

Eligibility Criteria

Business analysis encompasses all of the tasks and techniques used to liaise with an organization's stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organization and then recommend solutions to achieve its goals. Business analysis is recognized globally by a set of knowledge areas, tasks, and techniques collated in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge Guide (BABOK® Guide).

Organization Eligibility

  • To be eligible, the business must be headquartered in Quebec or Eastern Ontario.
  • You do not have to be a large organization to apply.

Project Eligibility

  • The project or the product iteration must have been completed between January 1 and December 31, 2020.
  • The outcome of the project or product iteration must have had an impact in Quebec or Eastern Ontario.

How to nominate

Evaluation process

A panel of distinguished individuals from academia, an IIBA chapter, or private or public organizations will evaluate the nominations in terms of leadership of the business analysis team and the contribution and success of the business analysis to the project. In the event of a tie, the jury will ask the applicants to make a short oral presentation. Finalists will be announced the week of May 24, 2021.

Awarding of the prize

The 2021 GRAAL Award will be presented publicly during a ceremony via ZOOM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. The winner will have the opportunity to present his or her project at the ceremony and at a monthly meeting of the Ottawa-Outaouais, Montreal and Quebec City chapters.
