Even spring can miss the mark on requirements. In this seasonal update, Chapter President Helen Racette reflects on the recent weather surprises, the postponed BA Blitz, and what’s coming up for the chapter—including our next Book Club meeting and volunteer opportunities. It’s a short read with a thoughtful reminder about staying adaptable and connected.

Hi everyone.

This past weekend was an “interesting” one, weather-wise.  I hope you and your families are safe and suffered no serious damage as a result of the storm.  Clearly, Spring was not present when we listed our requirements of sunshine and warmer temperatures.

Unfortunately, the bad weather meant we made the choice to postpone our BA Blitz (Business Analysis Hackathon) event.  We are working on a new venue and confirming the timing with our target NPO (non-profit organization), and we will be announcing the new date in the coming days.  We are tentatively planning for either May 24 or May 31, but those dates may both change depending on circumstances.

We were able to have our next installment of the BA Book Club and had an engaging conversation over our March selection, “surrounded by idiots”.  Up next for April is “Start with Why” and we will be meeting the last week of April to have a chat. I hope you will sign up and join in on this free fun conversation.

Finally, I would like to encourage you to consider joining our chapter as a volunteer.  We have some amazing opportunities coming in the months ahead, but they are all dependant on sharing the load of work those opportunities represent.  As a special thank you for our volunteers, our volunteers get a bonus event this month where we network and have a fun BA Lean Coffee.  The last one in the fall was fantastic and I look forward to this next one.
