About IIBA O-O
SERVING BUSINESS ANALYSTS IN CANADA'S NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
The Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®), supports IIBA's local members and the broader Business Analysis community in Canada's National Capital Region and the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario and Western Québec.
The Chapter's mission is to provide professional resources to Business Analysts in the region, to promote professional standards and practices at the local level, and to engage those working in professions related to the practice of Business Analysis to learn more.
A community-based professional association: run by BAs... for BAs!
Business Analysis touches on a broad range of roles: business analysis, systems analysis, requirements analysis or management, project management, consulting, process improvement, and more. Everyone interested in Business Analysis is welcome to be part of the IIBA O-O community, access news and information, and attend our year-long calendar of activities.
There are many great reasons to join IIBA® but, in keeping with our belief that an open door is the best way to support our Chapter mission and objectives, you will be welcomed as participant in the IIBA O-O community no matter what your membership.
IIBA® Corporate Bylaws do stipulate that only IIBA® members in good standing are eligible to be members of the Chapter corporation, vote at special/general meetings and hold office. Although IIBA O-O does not currently charge Chapter membership dues, we do require IIBA® members who wish to join the Chapter as formal members to register in writing. This provides clarity for Chapter governance and supports compliance with Ontario corporate and non-profit legislation. Chapters are not involved in the management of IIBA® memberships and do not receive financial funding from IIBA®. The Chapter is financed through a combination of fee-based activities and sponsor support. We offer preferential pricing to IIBA® members in good standing whenever we do charge for events.
IIBA O-O is entirely volunteer-run. The organization's formal membership plays a key role in its governance, including electing the Board of Directors, amending its Bylaws, and informing its strategic direction. Our success lies in delivering an annual program of activities that you are excited to attend. We encourage and actively solicit your input to help ensure that the Chapter delivers the right mix of activities to meet your needs.
