BA Trailblazer | BA Beginnings
The ultimate objective of this BA Trailblazer series is to create a comfortable space in which new business analysts can help each other as they explore this new career path, all the while building professional relationships and BA skills. There will be an interactive and collective approach to the sessions where feedback and ideas will be used to determine the direction of the Trailblazer’s discussions as the series progresses.
The series will begin by having participants use business analysis techniques to review and create a resume or CV geared towards the business analysis job market.

About the Hosts
Matt Landry is a young professional trying to gain experience as a Business Analyst. He acquired his Entry Certificate of Business Analysis (ECBA) through the IIBA by studying independently and completing the exam online. He currently works for Apple as a Technical Expert where he is responsible for facilitating troubleshooting sessions, uncovering customer needs, and providing tailored solutions.
J-P Thompson is entering business analysis as a second career, and completed a certification in business analysis from Algonquin College Corporate Training in 2017. He currently works for Shipley Canada doing business process analysis and proposal development. His role lets him put into practice what he has learned in the classroom, and combine it with his previous experience in project management, coordination, advocacy, research, and administration.
About the Trailblazer Initiatives
The IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter runs a number of trailblazer initiatives on a variety of topics. The objective is to bring people together to discuss specific topics of interest and learn from each other in a casual format. The participants are asked to research specific topics and share what they've learned with the group during a meetup.
Event details
Who should attend: The primary audience is entry-level BAs and those folks who have switched to business analysis mid-career. Nonetheless, senior BAs are also welcome to attend to give their perspective and relay their experience in a mentoring role.
