ECBA | CCBA | CBAP Study Group: Strategy Analysis

Purpose of the Study Group

The purpose of monthly study group sessions is to provide an opportunity for business analysts considering or preparing to write the ECBA™, CCBA® or CBAP® exam to meet with other like-minded individuals to review content in the BABOK® v3. Each month we will focus on a single chapter of the BABOK® v3, sharing perspectives on the content and answering questions amongst the group. A “technique spotlight” studies a select technique or group of techniques relevant to the knowledge area. Quiz questions are offered during the session to reinforce and assess the material covered. The session is facilitated by a CBAP-certified business analyst.

Overview of the Session

"The more things change, the more they stay the same" may be true of politics, but when it comes to requirements, change is inevitable. But how do you track these changes? How do you prioritize them? What are their impacts? Does anyone need to approve these requirements changes? Has scope started to increase?

In the January 2021 session, we will focus on the Strategy Analysis knowledge area, the sixth chapter of the BABOK®. 

The Strategy Analysis knowledge area describes the business analysis work that must be performed to collaborate with stakeholders in order to identify a need of strategic or tactical importance (the business need), enable the enterprise to address that need, and align the resulting strategy for the change with higher- and lower-level strategies.
