What does it take to create and run a successful Community of Practice?

Our March meeting was a joint effort of the Palmetto, Charlotte, and Ottawa-Outaouais chapters. What a great session this was! In a true BA fashion, the facilitators Maureen McVey, a senior business analyst, and Lesa King, a lead business analyst at Arizona State University, identified the benefits of starting a Community of Practice (CoP) or Centre of Excellence (CoE) at your organization. Facilitators and participants explored the necessary elements of a good CoP, what you need to get started and the recent trends in the Agile world of BAs moving into the product ownership domain. Many participants shared their stories in creating a CoP, which generated more ideas and made for an excellent discussion.
