Thirty (30) business analysts converged at Lambton College for BA Blitz, a hackathon in support of ABLE Autism. Working in teams led by CBAP® certified Senior Business Analysts, participants tackled a real-world challenges for the non-profit, applying BA techniques to deliver meaningful insights and community impact.

On Saturday May 24, our chapter gathered to host a Hackathon, called BA Blitz, to benefit ABLE Autism.  Sponsored by Lambton College, we had 30 junior, intermediate, and senior business analysts, including business analysis students from Lambton College, create 5 teams working through an actual business case to benefit this worthy non-profit.

The teams worked through multiple business analysis techniques, guided by a CBAP certified Senior Business Analyst on a specific business opportunity.  We had members of ABLE Autism, including their founder, with us to offer additional subject matter expert views.  Not only did our business analyst participants have a valuable and practical experience, the non-profit was impressed with how seriously we addressed their concerns, with empathy and understanding.

We will be following up with ABLE Autism and sharing a written report from the day. The organizing team outdid themselves in creating this unique opportunity for the Ottawa-Outaouais chapter to give back to the larger community.
