In this month’s edition of our newsletter, I want to talk about Value! But hold on, I want to step away from the technical definitions we often lean on. I’m not talking about the "Value" found in the Business Analysis Core Concept Model BACCM, nor the strategic value that drives organizational change. Instead, I want to talk about what we value right here in our IIBA Ottawa Chapter.
During our recent workshop on Prompt Engineering—a huge thank you to Moeed Israr for delivering such an insightful and high-value session—we opened by revisiting our vision, mission and most importantly, the core chapter values:
- Empathy
As I read through this list, I felt a genuine sense of pride and satisfaction. These aren't just words on a slide; I felt them in action throughout the session—both in the energy we put into hosting and in the incredible, genuine support we received from the chapter's past president and fellow attendees alike. It was a powerful reminder of our commitment to living our vision, mission, and values every day.
We aren’t slowing down. Behind the scenes, our dedicated team of volunteers is working tirelessly to organize one, possibly two, major in-person events. I’m so proud to be part of this team that is passionate about giving back to the community and supporting the next generation of Business Analysts.
Thank you for being a vital part of our chapter. Stay tuned and keep an eye on our events calendar—there is much more to come.
Best regards,
