Chapter President Helen Racette reflects on a successful 2024 and looks forward to her final six months as President. This year promises exciting events with new programming, thanks to the hard work of our Leadership Team.

Hi everyone.

I have been looking forward to this newsletter as we have some BIG news for the chapter.

Each January, I find that I don’t make “New Year’s Resolutions”, but I do work on a review of all that was accomplished in 2024 and set some forward looking goals - both short and long term.  I find I use my BA skills on myself when it comes to both exercises, but it’s a great way to refresh my own skills with that most challenging of clients, myself!  How about you?  Do you leverage your BA skills to set goals for yourself?

Looking back, 2024 was a mixed year that ended on a better note for our chapter.  We had our first in-person social networking event of the season, and we recruited one new Executive to our Board, and we have several new Volunteers who have stepped up into Deputy roles.  Welcome to all of our new Leadership Team members.

The next six months will be my last as your Chapter President.  Time flies when you are having fun.  There are not one, but several events coming our way in 2025 and I can’t thank the team enough for all the work they are putting in at present.  I encourage all of you to have a look at the events planned including our monthly Chapter meetings with some fascinating upcoming speakers, our monthly study group, as well as special events in February and March.

As always, get comfortable, have your calendar handy to block the dates, and enjoy this first Chapter newsletter of 2025.  As always, a huge thank you to the incredible team of the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter.
