Hello everyone,
As we put 2025 behind us, I find it very important to look back at what we achieved, then look forward and plan for the New Year.
So, at the beginning of each year, and before planning or making “New Year’s Resolution” I find it very useful to look back and assess what happened in the previous year, what went right and what went wrong, celebrate wins and learn from loses, set-up objectives, manage backlogs, analyze current state, and then define future state, and plan how to enable changes. In short, I find that business analysis integrated with my life and became a lifestyle rather than just a temporary endeavor, and honestly speaking, I enjoy it! What about you? Do you integrate business analysis into your life? Do you think that it is time to move the Business Analysis work from being a best practice to something more regulated? Just food for thoughts!
In our last newsletter, we reviewed our achievements in 2025. Now I will be glad to share some insights about 2026!
We will be continuing with our regular monthly events, Study Group where we cover a chapter from BABOK every month, Chapter meetings with fascinating speakers and a new topic every month, and Volunteer BA Lean Coffee where we utilize our BA skills to choose and discuss topics. In addition to that, we are planning for at least 2 signature events: an in-person social networking event, workshop(s) and other things are to be determined. Furthermore, 2026 has a very special occasion, as it marks the 20th birthday of our chapter! So stay tuned for more updates about it.
A big thank you to the amazing IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter team: board members, deputies, volunteers and members, you are the backbone of the chapter, and without your outstanding efforts, we won’t be able to play our role in the community.
As always, please sit back and relax and keep your eyes on our calendar. I hope that we will deliver the value that we aim for.
