PMImpact 2026 takes place Friday, November 27, at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa, and our chapter is bringing two sessions. What changes when one professional holds both the CBAP and the PMP? Myla Hum facilitates a panel with Patrick van Abbema, Pamela Paterson, and Ziad Sakr to answer that. Also, Oge Nwachukwu, our VP Marketing, presents how to decide whether an AI agent is the right fix, starting with the process itself.

The IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter is partnering with the PMI Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter (PMI OVOC) for PMImpact 2026 on Friday, November 27, 2026, at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa. Two of our chapter’s sessions will be part of the day, and we hope to see you there.

Multiple Certifications, One Professional: How the CBAP and PMP Shape Success

Some professionals hold both the CBAP and the PMP. What changes when one person carries both credentials? Does it shift how they scope requirements and plan work, or do the two frameworks sometimes pull in different directions? This panel, facilitated by Myla Hum, brings together Patrick van Abbema, Pamela Paterson, and Ziad Sakr, our chapter president. They will share how both credentials shaped their careers and the projects they delivered. The session is for business analysts and project managers, and for anyone weighing the CBAP, the PMP, or both.

AI Project Success Starts with the Right Use Case

This presentation introduces a process-first approach to finding and evaluating AI agent opportunities. Participants start by mapping a business process, including its activities, decision points, exceptions, and available data. They then weigh three factors: decision density, exception volume, and data confidence readiness. Two practical examples show where judgment is required, where exceptions need investigation, and where human review matters most. Participants leave with a worksheet for deciding whether an AI agent pilot makes sense, whether process or data gaps need attention first, or whether conventional automation is the better path.

The session is presented by Oge Nwachukwu, our VP Marketing, who is also the author of the newly launched Business Analysis Career Playbook: From No Experience to Hired in 5 Steps.
