January Special Event | Speed Recruiting & Networking

The IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter is a community-based professional association dedicated to building a strong business analysis community in Ottawa. In an effort to create a connection between our members and local recruiting agencies and employers in the Ottawa region, the Chapter cordially invites you to participate in our annual Networking and Recruiting event. This event brings business analysts of various levels of experience (novice, intermediate and senior BAs) and local recruiters and employers together under one roof.

In the last couple of years, the event, which is held in a "speed recruiting" format, has proven to be a remarkable hiring opportunity in the Nation's Capital for recruiters and employers while serving as a platform for open and wide-ranging employment opportunities for BAs.

What's in it for the BA candidate

• Face-to-face opportunity to network with a select number of recruiters and employers in the region
• A fun (and efficient) way to learn about available job opportunities
• Opportunity to network with your peers and with the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter to learn more about the profession and current trends

What's in it for the Employer/Recruiter

• Awareness development within the BA community of the business nature of your organization as well as your current and future needs for BAs.
• Face-to-face access to 30-40 local BAs having a broad range of experience.
• Opportunities to network and develop further relationships with some of the best candidates/professionals currently in the market.
• Healthy competition with a handful of other recruiters and employers.

Each of the employers/recruiters will be stationed at their own table. Job seekers will initially be split amongst the tables and will have a set amount of time (5 – 6 minutes) to speak with the employers / recruiters. Job seekers will rotate, meeting with other employers / recruiters. All job seekers and employers / recruiters will have a chance to meet each other over the course of the evening. Once the “Speed Recruiting” has completed, all participants will be able to enjoy the rest of the evening meeting peers and networking.

When: Wednesday, January 15, 2020

• 4:30 to 5:00 pm – Station setup
• 5:00 to 5:15 pm – Registration and introductions
• 5:15 to 7:00 pm – Speed recruiting event
• 7:00 to 7:30 pm – Networking and socializing
