What is Business Analysis?

Business Analysis touches on a broad range of roles: business analysis, systems analysis, requirements analysis or management, project management, consulting, process improvement, and more. Everyone interested in Business Analysis is welcome to be part of the IIBA O-O community, access news and information, and attend our year-long calendar of activities.

Do I need to be a Member of IIBA® to join the Chapter?

Yes. Only official IIBA® Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter members are eligible to vote at the Chapter's Annual General meeting (AGM) and hold office. Membership in the Chapter is open to any member of IIBA® in good standing.  At present, Chapter membership does not require IIBA® members to pay any additional dues.

However, neither IIBA® nor Chapter membership is required to be involved with the Chapter, outside of AGM activities.

Everyone interested in Business Analysis and related professions is welcome to be part of the IIBA® O-O community, access news and information, and attend our year-long calendar of activities.  We recognize that Business Analysis touches on a broad range of roles: business analysis, systems analysis, requirements analysis or management, project management, consulting, process improvement, and more. We believe that, by encouraging broadened participation, we enhance our collaborative competencies and our profession.

How do I join IIBA®?

Membership in IIBA® is granted and managed by IIBA® Global. Chapters are not involved in the management of IIBA® memberships and receive no share of members' dues. For more information on joining IIBA® or to renew your membership, please visit the IIBA® Membership section.

How do I sign up to receive communications from the Chapter?

To stay abreast of the chapter events and activities, subscribe to the chapter newsletter.

I am not a member of the IIBA® or the Chapter, can I still attend Chapter events?

Yes, most of the Chapter's events are open to both members and non-members.

I no longer wish to receive communications from the Chapter, how do I unsubscribe?

Please send an e-mail the members@ottawa-outaouais.IIBA.org and request to be removed from our distribution list. You can also choose unsubscribe using our monthly newsletter.

If I cannot register for a chapter event online, can I still attend the event?

You can register for events (except workshops) last minute and pay at the door. However, we encourage advance registration to speed up event sign-ins, plan seating, and organize catering.

What is the cost to attend the Chapter events?

If you have an active IIBA membership, you are eligible for member discounted rates. Chapter membership is free.

Pay-as-you-go Chapter Monthly Events:

  • IIBA® Members: Free | Non-Members: $10

Chapter Workshops and Sponsored Events:

  • IIBA® Members typically receive 10-35% off professional development events

Study Group Sessions:

  • IIBA® Members: Free | Non-Members: $5

What type of networking events does the IIBA® Ottawa Chapter offer?
