June Meeting | AGM 2019
The 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of members of the IIBA® Ottawa-Outaouais chapter is on Tuesday, June 18th at the Ottawa Police Association. The AGM is an important part of the IIBA® Ottawa-Outaouais chapter's decision-making cycle and all are welcome to attend. The IIBA® Ottawa-Outaouais chapter is a non-profit organization, incorporated under the Ontario Corporations Act. Each June, we close our annual calendar of activities with our Annual General Meeting. As an important part of the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter's governance and decision-making cycle, the AGM is an opportunity to learn more about the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter and to voice your thoughts on future activities.
The agenda for the Annual General Meeting will begin with the Annual Meeting of Members of the Corporation, which includes the President's and Treasurer's reports, any proposed by-law amendments, and the election of Officers to the Board of Directors. All are invited to participate in discussions, however only IIBA® members in good standing are eligible to stand for office and vote in the meeting.
Seeking board members
The IIBA® Ottawa Outaouais chapter is seeking new board members to sustain, improve and expand the activities our chapter offers. As an IIBA® member, you have a unique opportunity to join the board in increasing awareness and recognition of the business analysis profession. The many benefits of being an IIBA® member, such as access to resources and further developing your leadership skills and network, are enhanced through serving as a board member. In your profession, you pursue business efficiency and effectiveness; becoming an IIBA® Board Member can improve your effectiveness in your role and broaden your network.
Volunteers who are CCBA® or CBAP® certified will also earn 1 CDU per hour of volunteer service to the IIBA® Ottawa-Outaouais chapter. IIBA® is an independent professional association with the goal of creating greater awareness of the business analysis profession and its importance; operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. Recognized as the leading association for business analysis, IIBA® has more than 25,000 members in 45+ countries. Members of IIBA® have access to numerous resources through their affiliation with IIBA®.

Proposed Title Change
A proposal has been made to change the title of the VP Global Relations to Director-at-Large. Please view the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais 2019 AGM Notice of Amendment for details.
The following positions are up for election in 2019:
- VP Professional Development (2 years)
- VP Global Relations (2 years) with a proposed name change: Director-at-Large
- Treasurer (has an incumbent)
- VP Certification (has an incumbent)
- VP Member Services (has an incumbent)

- 5:00 to 5:30 pm - Registration, snacks and socializing
- 5:30 to 6:30 pm - Meeting of the Corporation, AGM presentation and elections
- 6:30 to 7:00 pm - More socializing before we break for the summer!
