November Meeting | Exploring Different Project Approaches (Traditional vs Agile)

Understand five (5) fundamentally different approaches to completing projects. The Waterfall, Iterative, Scrum, Kanban and SAFe approaches are valid and appropriate in the right context, but which method is right for your team and your organization?  Understand the key considerations of each approach, and how a business analyst will contribute to the success of each type of project.

In this session you will learn:​

• What types of organizations (projects) are appropriate for traditional project approaches and which are better suited to agile approaches;
• Two types of predictive project approaches (Waterfall and Iterative);
• Three types of agile project approaches (Scrum, Kanban and SAFe); and how
• How the role of the BA changes depending upon the project approach applied.

About the Facilitator:

Stephanie Lachman-Doucet is a dynamic individual with experience driving organizational growth and efficiencies through the skilful design, development, deployment, and support of mission critical business processes and information systems.

She is certified professional with experience spanning numerous roles and a multitude of technologies.  She is skilled in all phases, disciplines, and issues related to system development, the delivery and support of shared services, IT operations and IT project/program management. 

She holds an HBSc in Computer Science (Gold Medal), a Masters of Management, and is TOGAF, CBAP, CBDA, PMP, PMI-PBA, ITILv4 Foundation and CSM certified.
