With the coronavirus pandemic making the world feel very unpredictable and even a little scary, it’s important that we stay calm and follow the advice of those who are trying to keep us healthy and safe.  As business analysts, we’re uniquely capable in this type of situation. We’ve developed our resiliency and resourcefulness in many ways in our professional lives, and demonstrated this in the leadership skills needed for our role every day.

For this reason, the Board Members and Deputies of the IIBA Ottawa-Outaouais Chapter want to reassure you that we’re still thinking of our community as we get through this situation.  We’re making some changes so that you can still enjoy our programming, but from the comfort of your home or at a later date.

Our monthly meetings, study group sessions, and BA Trailblazer meetups will be held online. Please bear with us as we adjust to a fully online format.  We know that glitches will happen, and we’re counting on your patience and understanding as we work things out. Keep watching our web site for news and event updates.

Our Capital BA Day conference has been postponed to October 30, 2020. We’ve managed to retain the majority of the speakers for the new date, and the format and topics will be the same. If you’ve already purchased a ticket, please hang onto it. If you haven’t yet purchased a ticket, watch for news as we figure out how we will proceed for the Fall. This is still going to be a fantastic event; please continue to spread the word to our community!

Additionally, if you’re staying home for the next little while and looking for opportunities for continuous learning, don’t forget all of the resources available to both members and non-members on the IIBA Global web site: listen to a webinar or a podcast; enjoy some quality reading from the extensive digital library or the latest BA Lens magazine; study for a new certification; or read up on hot topics like business data analytics or cybersecurity. The list just goes on and on.
